In the middle of last year, Lithuanian creators were invited to participate in the national competition of folk graphics and drawings to win the Romanas Krasninkevičius Prize. This year, one of the most prominent representatives not only of Marijampolė region, but also of Lithuanian traditional folk graphics, whose works are already a valuable heritage, would celebrate its 95th anniversary.
Magdalena Birutė Stankūnienė Art Gallery and the Culture Center of Marijampolė (Vilkaviškio str. 2 / Kauno str. 3, Marijampolė) already have a large, solid and at the same time full of light and coziness exhibition. It was planned to open last November (this month R. Krasninkevičius was born), and during the closing the winners of the competition had to be announced. However, the exhibition is open from 12th of February and on 8th April. the winners will be announced. Paintings of wood carvings created by folk artist Klaidas Navickas also take part in the exhibition. We invite you to visit!
